This southern Rhone style rose comes from the Rancho Sarco vineyard on Monticello Road, in Napa city.  The vineyard sits on the south side of the road, close to the gravely river bottom.  I picked a total of 5 tons of syrah grapes. The grapes were hand harvested early in the morning so when they arrived at the winery they were still very cold. Hence, we were able to get more juice out by lightly pressing the fruit until we had the desired rose color.  

Before pressing we sorted the grapes on their way to the de-stemer. Then the juice went through the bladder press into a small stainless tank where the wine was aged for five months.  Aging the rose in stainless I was able to maintain beautiful acid and a clean, complex structure. Bone dry!  270 cases produced
